the second interlude. i had been listening to a lot of daft punk before i recorded this album, and was especially interested in how on random access memories, the first three songs are all in a minor. then the fourth track within has a beautiful piano solo that transitions from a minor to b-flat minor, where the subsequent tracks reside. i wanted to do the same kind of thing. so it begins in e-flat major - just like the chopin nocturne - then travels into c major. its mostly the chopin piece but with a transitional passage composed by me. i wanted to keep it as sympathetic as possible to chopin's style.
saw this live when they were performing with Jeff Rosenstock. The Goosebumps from seeing the pure emotion in the finale was so raw and passionate. it made me appreciate being able to attend live music again! vvilko
